Law Enforcement and Police Foundations Diploma

The Law Enforcement and Police Foundations Diploma at Anderson College is a 42-week hybrid program with a large portion of virtual, scheduled instructor-led classes and a four-week (25 hours/week) practicum. The program is a joint initiative aligned with the Police Learning System Advisory Committee and the Ministry — establishing the minimum entrance standards for police services in Ontario — so graduates are prepared to apply to the Police Academy or launch broader law-enforcement careers.

The curriculum covers the Canadian criminal justice system, criminal law and criminology, policing practices and procedures, community policing and diversity awareness, ethics and professional decision-making, criminal investigations and interviewing techniques, evidence collection and documentation, report writing and courtroom preparation, crisis intervention, de-escalation, conflict resolution, use-of-force theory and safety tactics, correctional services, private and public security operations, border services, and immigration enforcement basics.

Classes are led by instructors with law enforcement and policing expertise, backed by Anderson's 140+ year commitment to student success and alumni-network access. Career services — resume building, interview preparation, and job-fair access — are available for life.
