ABOUT THE ROLE
Anderson College is currently seeking a competent and dedicated Placement Coordinator to join our team at our GTA and Hamilton campuses. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in adult education and a passion for assisting mature students in achieving their goals. This hybrid role requires on-campus presence on certain days and remote work on others.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Collaborate with instructors and the Career Services Department to identify practicum placement sites for students.
- Develop external relationships to secure practicum placements and job leads, ensuring students and graduates stay informed of industry openings.
- Maintain active relations with practicum hosts and employers in the community.
- Guide and support students/graduates in the practicum search process, including resume and personal development.
- Conduct practicum-related workshops.
- Research and evaluate postings, contacting and following up with employers about practicum and employment vacancies.
- Coordinate practicum paperwork with students.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
- Achieve the College’s targeted employment rates.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the College.
CORE SKILLS REQUIRED
- Relationship building with some prospecting and sales acumen.
- Strong administration skills.
- Time management.
- Proficiency in the English language.
EXPERIENCE
- Career placement, customer service, and sales experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
- Workshop facilitation.
