After feeling unfulfilled in various jobs, I wanted a sense of purpose, stable employment, and a pathway to further education. I decided to pursue a career in healthcare and looked into different careers before enrolling in the Dental Assistant program at Anderson College.
Studying was hard work, but I received support from staff such as Desiree, my second-term teacher, who was so helpful when I asked for extra help during class, and family members such as my mom, who helped me stay positive during the long study days.

I appreciated the hands-on learning throughout the program and the practical experience that I gained. The program included clinical rotations, lab work, and simulations, which helped me apply the theoretical concepts I learned to real-world scenarios. I was able to learn at my own pace and balance my studies with my other commitments, which was important to me. More than that, though, the sense of community among the students and faculty at Anderson College made me feel like I was part of a team.

If I could pass on one thing I’ve learned, it’s that everyone should pursue their passions and invest in their education, regardless of their age or background.
